Why Waste Material When We Can Capture and Reuse It?

Why Waste Material When We Can Capture and Reuse It? Material shortages, staffing and supply chain issues, and constantly increasing prices for what material is available make every ounce more valuable, and every ounce wasted more costly. Allowing material to be discarded when we have the ability to capture, recover,

Can You Identify the Combustible Dust Hazards in this Scenario?

Can You Identify the Combustible Dust Hazards in this Scenario? We received a call last year that went viral internally among our engineering team. We were rather alarmed since this call suggested that even professional engineers are confused about the dangers of combustible powders and dust and/or misinformed about how

A special pneumatic conveying solution for transfer of a reactive material

Volkmann was recently challenged to provide a pneumatic conveying solution in a chemical industry process where a powdery intermediate product needed to be removed from a container – still wet from the centrifuge manufacturing process – and conveyed into a dryer. The container was located on the third floor, the dryer on the second floor. The product being transferred from the centrifuge was still wet (wet cake) and contained, among other things, dichloromethane and toluene. The customer required a safe and reliable conveying system for the transfer, as the mix of materials were difficult to handle and reactive.
