New Facility Expansion Means More Conveyors Delivered Faster
It’s no secret among our customers around the world that demand for our Volkmann pneumatic vacuum conveyors has grown sharply in recent years as automated conveying, food contamination prevention, dust control, and worker safety have become top priorities among many processors and manufacturers. It’s also no secret that intense demand tends to stretch lead times so we’re expanding our production facility to more than double capacity and shorten lead times. We’re making lead times fast again.
New Pneumatic Vacuum Conveyor Manufacturing Facility
We recently celebrated the groundbreaking on a mega-plant expansion at our global headquarters in Soest, Germany. With this new facility, we’re to add a staggering 48,437 square feet to the existing facility to more than double the square footage available for designing and manufacturing our vacuum conveyors and other bulk material handling equipment.
When construction is finished and the new building becomes operational in 2025, we expect to shorten lead times down to a matter of weeks, using our globally popular VS vacuum conveying system as an example. As our most versatile conveyor, the Volkmann VS is a proven, reliable solution for transferring hundreds of different food ingredients, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and other materials. Standard VS conveyors are usually suitable for most applications without any customization and can be setup and installed without technical expertise. Not only will we be able to produce these faster, but we’re also planning to stock these systems in our Bristol, PA facility for immediate delivery.
New Testing Laboratory
For factory acceptance testing, product formulation testing, and for testing how our powder handling equipment performs with your material, we highly recommend scheduling a test in one of our testing laboratories, such as the lab in our Pennsylvania facility. The new, expanded facility in Germany is to feature an even larger test laboratory with our latest full-size, fully operating pneumatic vacuum conveying systems, bag dumping stations, lump breakers, and other auxiliary equipment, with a dedicated team of engineers ready to collaborate with you on your confidential test.
Expanded Bulk Material Handling Education
In the new, larger facility, we’ll be able to host even more guests at our educational seminars and training courses and won’t have to turn people away. Our planned schedule offers education on explosion prevention and ATEX certification, hygienic and cGMP powder processes, vacuum conveying for safe, efficient material transfer, and others.
